Enrichment to Start Soon!

The Enrichment Teachers are looking forward to meeting new students, and reconnecting with last year’s students as well. We planning out an awesome year. This year I am sure will blow your socks off!

If you are a new student and parent to the Enrichment Program please make sure you check out this site, along with your teachers websites (Mr. Shoemaker’s Website, and Mrs. Markely’s Website). There is a couple of other places to chek as as well such as Schoology, and building’s Facebook page.  Also, check out the PACES wesbite to see how you can get connected with other parents here in Allen County.

As scheduled right now all Enrichment classes will be starting August 31st. Your child should be coming home with information about the bus, lunch, class times, and which day of the week they will attend class. There will also be other important information that you will need to know.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call or email your child’s Enrichment teacher. Their contact information can be located on the Contact tab.

Some Gifted Characteristics

I started reading a really great book called Designing Defensible Classroom Programs for Gifted Secondary School Learners. As I started really reading this book, I saw some charts that I think every teacher and parent should see.

These charts have descriptors on them that describe Cognitive, Creative, and Social-Emotional Characteristics of gifted children. It also has an area on the chart that describes the type of learning environment that is best suited for that learner.

Here are the 3 Different Gifted Characteristics charts. I hope that you can check them out and recognize which learning style is best for your students and/or your own child.
