Lima Senior hires new football coach

The Lima City Schools has hired a coach from Kenton High School to become the next Lima Senior football coach and football coordinator for the district.

The school board approved hiring Bill Lawrence at its April 17 board meeting.

Since 2oo6, Lawrence has served as an associate head football coach, offensive coordinator and assistant coach at Kenton High School. He’s also been head coach of the middle school football program. Lawrence began his coaching career in 1996 as head varsity football coach at Lake Christian Academy in Florida. He played football (wide receiver) at Urbana University.

Lawrence has also been head coach of the Kenton girls softball program for the past 15 years. He’s also served as an assistant varsity girls basketball coach and middle school boys basketball coach while at Kenton.

Lawrence will serve as an intervention specialist at Lima Senior. He held the same position in Kenton.
