Dear Parent,

Beginning Wednesday, March 2, face masks will no longer be required in the Lima City Schools, at school events or on district transportation.

Families, of course, can continue to wear masks if they choose.

This decision comes after much thought and at the recommendation of our Director of Nursing and the Allen County Health Department.

Please understand that we will continue to monitor our cases in the district as well as in our community. And we will continue to take our lead from medical professionals and the County Health Department.

If we see a spike in COVID-19 cases in our community and are advised that returning to masks is necessary, we will not hesitate to do that. We will always make the health and safety of our students and staff our top priority.

We know these past two years of being in masks and following other COVID-related protocols have been difficult on students, families and staff. We always believed we were doing what was best, and we appreciate your compliance, patience and continued support.

Please feel free to contact me at 419-996-3422 or jackerman@spartan.limacityschools.org with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jill Ackerman, Superintendent
