The Lima Senior High School DECA program finished the State DECA Competition with three first-place awards and several others headed to the National contest.

Below are the results. The top three go onto nationals, which will be done virtually in the coming weeks.

1st Place Finishers:

Community Awareness Project – Nakiya Sigman, Je’Niya Allen and Alivea Buchanan

Innovation Plan – Cecelia Suarez and Jada McClendon

Sales Project – Meghan Nuckles, Ella Brayton & Alex Engberg

2nd Place Finish

Elsbeth Nelson – Public Relations

3rd Place Finishers 

Career Development Project – Mike Snow, Javier Brito-Diaz and Alleah Julien

Haley Shafer – Policy Advocate

Top 10 Finishers –

5th Place: Community Giving – Kyle Figgins and MyAsia Luster

6th Place: Start-Up Business Plan – Jourdyn Rawlins

7th Place: Integrated Marketing Campaign – Keegan Halliday, Maddie Emerick and Tillie Nelson

8th Place:  Human Resource Management – Gage Hipsher

10th Place: Hospitality & Tourism Selling – Addie Delph

State Officer Finalist: Evelyn Williams

Additionally, both Lima Senior DECA I & II received Thrive level recognition for their chapters, one of the highest distinctions a DECA chapter can receive on the National level, allowing for six additional students to compete and represent Lima Senior at Nationals.
