Lima City Schools is getting ready for Homecoming with a week of activities, including a new Homecoming Parade before Friday’s Game. The week begins Monday, Oct. 7.
Bonfire: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, by the discus area across from the north parking lot at Spartan Stadium. The public is welcome.
Pep Rally and inaugural Crowning of Teacher Homecoming King and Queen: 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in Lima Senior gym. Students voted for the King and Queen. This is not open to the public.
Homecoming Parade: Starts at 6 p.m. in Lima Senior’s activities parking lot (east). Clubs, groups and others from around the district will participate. The parade will proceed east on High Street to Spartan Stadium and make one lap around the track. Gates to the stadium will open at 5:30 p.m.
Introduction of Homecoming Court and Crowning of King and Queen will begin at 6:30 p.m. Homecoming court voting will take place October 2-4 during lunch periods.
The Spartans will take on Fremont Ross at 7 p.m. in Spartan Stadium.
Presale tickets will be available in the Athletic Office from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. All tickets at the gate are $7.
Schools throughout the district will take part in theme days throughout the week. Below is the schedule.
Monday: Character Day – Dress as your favorite character
Tuesday: Senior Citizen Day – Dress “Old” Schools
Wednesday: Holiday Day – Dress as you favorite holiday
Thursday: Throwback Day – Dress as your favorite decade/time period
Friday: Spartan Day: Wear your favorite Spartan Wear
**Uniform pants must still be worn with Spirit Week Wear.
