Lima Senior High School will host one more meeting to provide seniors and their parents assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The meeting is for Lima Senior High School seniors only.

The next meeting is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Lima Senior. Dinner will be provided and every family will receive a gift. Every family that completes the FAFSA the night of the meeting will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.

The FAFSA determines a student’s eligibility for need-based federal financial aid for college, which may include grants, scholarships, work-study and loans. It is required to receive aid.

Students considering a two or four-year college or trade school should complete the FAFSA. There is no cost to complete.

The meeting will provide onsite assistance so that families can complete the required paperwork that very night. There will be computers at the high school and people on hand to assist families. Area colleges and universities and the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce will supply the expertise.

Families attending should bring 2018 Federal Tax Returns for parents and students, 2018 W-2s for parents and students, driver’s license, Social Security number, bank account balances and investments, and any other untaxed income such as child support.

For information on the FAFSA or meetings, call 419-996-3043.

The meetings are part of the Ohio Mayor’s Education Advocacy Grant the city of Lima received on behalf of the school district. An initiative of the Ohio Mayors Alliance, the grants are possible thanks to Learn to Earn Dayton, the Melinda Gates Foundation and the AT&T Foundation.
