There are seven officers from around the state who serve Ohio DECA, and the Lima Senior DECA program makes up three of them this year.

After campaigning in Columbus Oct. 30, senior Dalonte Manley was elected Vice President of Leadership Development, and senior Quinn Gable was elected Vice President of Community Outreach.

Both had to go through a screening process, deliver a speech and answer impromptu questions to voting delegates. They were then elected by other members of Ohio DECA at the Ohio DECA Fall Leadership Conference.

Senior Cora Bicknell competed to become a Public Relations Officer. She had to take a test, write a press release and give an interview.

In addition, Ti’ara Spivey placed third in Parliamentary Law. She also had to take a test and give an interview. She was among 45 competing and missed becoming an officer by just a few points.

Gable and Manley are presidents of the two Lima Senior DECA chapters this year. Bicknell is vice president of one of the chapters and Spivey is Vice President of Finance
