Kiwanis student clubs, advisers recognized

The K-Kids Clubs of Heritage, Freedom, Independence and Unity elementary schools and Builders Clubs at West Middle School, Liberty Arts Magnet and South Science and Technology Magnet have met the requirements of Kiwanis International to be named Distinguished Clubs for 2017-18.

To qualify for the distinction, clubs must meet certain criteria, including having done multiple service projects.

In addition, the Builders Club at North Middle School was named as an Honor Club in accordance with criteria established by Kiwanis International.

Angie Meyer and Crystal Miller named Distinguished K-Kids advisors. Meyer is at Freedom and Miller is at Heritage.

The district’s K-Kids and Builders Clubs are student service clubs connected with the Lima Kiwanis Club.
