A team of Lima Senior High School DECA students finished in the top 10 at the DECA International Career Development Conference this week in Atlanta, Ga.

Amiah Allen, Syrus Mason and Kate Woods presented the Big Spartans Little Spartans program in the Community Service division. The project was one of more than 200 projects competing in that category.

The program placed somewhere between fourth and 10th place (only first through third are given a final placement).

Big Spartans Little Spartans is a program that sends DECA students to North Middle School once a week to mentor, help with school work, and do other relationship-building activities with students.

Eight Lima Senior projects (15 students) competed at the international contest, getting there by advancing through the state competition last month.
