Lima Senior DECA student Preshus Lowe will be among seven Ohio DECA State Office holders this year, carrying on the tradition of Lima Senior students winning state office positions.
Lowe was elected Vice President of Leadership Development after campaigning in Columbus Oct. 31. With her DECA classmates campaigning hard for her, Lowe had to deliver a speech and answer impromptu questions to voting delegates. She was then elected by other members of Ohio DECA.
Lowe is president of one of Lima Senior’s DECA chapters. She is involved in the Big Spartans Little Spartans program and is a member of the National Honor Society. She was also captain of the Spartan volleyball team this year.
Lowe will be on stage running several State DECA conferences as well as representing Ohio DECA and Lima Senior at the International Conference next spring.
Lowe was not the only success story this week.
Junior Cora Bicknell’s pin design was chosen as a finalist and is in the running for this year’s official Ohio DECA pin. A Lima Senior art student, she is also secretary of one of the school’s DECA chapters.
Senior Reilie Lyons and Junior Cassie Phillips both finished in the top 10 in the Parliamentary Law competition. Lyons is vice president of a Lima Senior DECA chapter and Phillips is secretary.
