Six Lima Senior High School DECA students will compete in the international DECA competition April 22-27 in Nashville, Tenn.

The students qualified for the contest following the state competition this past weekend in Columbus. Below are the names of those headed to the DECA International Career Development Conference and how they finished at state:

Taylor Lesh: Second place in Financial Consulting.

Mikaela Moore, Kayla O’Dell and Danielle Bash: Third place for “Austin’s Army” Community Service Project.

Dakota Stocker and Derek Snider: Gold in School Based Enterprise.

Taylor Lesh also won a $1,500 Bob Berns Scholarship.

Lima Senior’s DECA classes had a record-number 62 students qualify for this year’s state competition. The following students finished in the top 10 and received medals:

Dakota Stocker: Automotive Services.

Derek Snider, Ruben Flowers and Xavier Simpson: Learn and Earn.

Reghan Winkler, Chase Barnett and Jaden Burk: Financial Literacy Promotion Project.

Imari Richardson, Essence Cowan and Serena Mason: Entrepreneurship Promotion Project
