We know that COVID-19 pandemic can be very overwhelming for both parents and kids. Here are some tips we all need to remember for ourselves and to remind our children of as well.
**Healthcare workers are learning as much as they can about the virus and doing all they can to keep everyone safe.
**It is okay for adults and kids to feel scared, but know you are SAFE. Discuss with kids healthy ways to cope with stress. Strive to reduce panic.
**Limit children’s exposure to media coverage. It can be very frightening what they see on TV, social media, computers, etc. For older kids, talk with them about what news they are hearing and correct any misinformation or rumors they are hearing.
**Hand washing is SO IMPORTANT–wash for 20 seconds!! Keep hands away from face and covering your cough/sneeze with a tissue or elbow.
**Get enough sleep. This not only helps stay physically healthy, but helps stay mentally healthy as well.
**Remember the main symptoms include: fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
**Be a good example of empathy and support to those who are ill.
**Remember to keep a sense of structure for yourself and your child.
