Orientations, open houses set

The Lima City Schools will hold open houses and orientations in the coming weeks.

Lima Senior High School Registration: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.

During this day, students can register online, pick up schedules, pay fees, get parking permits and get pictures taken for student ID and yearbook.

All student drivers must get a parking permit and it must be displayed at all times. All student and visitor parking will be in the front of the school off of Spartan Way.

All doors will be locked at 8 a.m. and everyone must enter through the front doors. Students must have their IDs on at all times. The first ID is free, but there is a cost to replace. Students must exit the building at dismissal.

Below are open house and orientation information for all other schools

Lima North Middle School Orientation: Student orientation, schedule pick up, meet teachers from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday Aug. 10. Open house from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Lima West Middle School Orientation: Monday, Aug. 21. Seventh grade: 9 to 9:30 a.m. Pick up schedules from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Eighth grade: 12:30 to 1 p.m. Pick up schedules from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

There is also an evening option for those who cannot attend the daytime sessions. Orientation from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for seventh and eighth graders. Pick up schedules from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Freedom Elementary School Open House: 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Heritage Elementary School Open House: 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Independence Elementary School Open House: 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Liberty Arts Magnet School Open House: 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

South Science and Technology Magnet School Open House: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Unity Elementary School Open House: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Parents are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible. All registration is online. To register: Log onto www.limacityschools.org and click on “Enroll” in the menu at the top of the page.
