Changes coming to dual enrollment, post secondary

The state of Ohio is making changes to dual enrollment and post-secondary enrollment options that will make more options available at a lower cost to families.

Starting next school year, every public high school in the state will be required to have a pathway for students to earn 15 or 30 college credit hours as a high school student through a variety of methods which could be offered at the high school, on-line, on a college campus or a combination.

Lima Senior students already have options to earn 30 college credits. The school will add additional classes to create a variety of pathways for more students.

The biggest change will be a significant reduction in costs to families. Students who currently qualify for free and reduce-priced meals will see no costs.

Parents and students with questions should contact Guidance Counselor Christina Riddle at 419-996-3034.
